Golden Girl

One of my favorite trends, aside from seventies flare, is school girl chic. Any excuse to sport knee highs and mary-jane pumps gives me butterflies. This weekend I was able to put these mary-jane pumps I had bought months ago to good use. They finally made their début and I must say, I fell more in love with them.

Since metallic is also coming back for Fall, I decided to take the school girl trend up a notch, with some metallic accents. This metallic gold skirt caught my eye, and at first I questioned it, but I ultimately decided to take the plunge and buy something that would ultimately be one of the most eye-catching pieces I own.

I paired my metallic pleated skirt with a sheer long-sleeve blouse that had gorgeous ruffle accents on the front, giving my look the femininity it needed. My necklace which was part of the black and gold color palette I had going, was the last touch. I threw on a blazer to keep the school girl aspect of the look and to balance out the skirt. A blazer instantly polished my look, regardless of the multiple trends associated with the total look.

  1. You look so chic. I have the same F21 skirt, and I’m finding that it’s incredibly versatile. It’s easy to dress up for night and also works well for casual days. I love a little bit of shine!
